Leviathan

Leviathan "Sea-God"

The God of Water

Responsibilities: God of Water, God of Ice, God of Fish, Patron God of Merfolk, Patron God of Seafarers, interim God of Cures

Leviathan's healing symbol is a feather-like spine with a curved end, tip pointing up. His symbolic animal is a sea-serpent.

Pantheons: Nine Magic Gods, Elemental Gods, interim Healing God

"Family": Brother Ceraph - God of Wind, Brother Phoenix - God of Fire

Theology

Personality: Leviathan is generally fairly apathetic and happy to just go with the flow. Certain things do provoke his ire though, and he acts when he has to, though it does sometimes take a little while for him to decide what is his best choice. He takes things quite seriously.

Powers: Leviathan is the god of the sea and most of the creatues within it. He is also the god of ice and works with Ceraph to create weather. Since a god's power is compounded by the number of their followers, and elementalists make up a good proportion of mortals, Leviathan holds a lot of power. He does not usually wield this to drive his points, however.

Leviathan and the other elemental gods were delegated healing magic when Gaea no longer wanted to interact directly with the mortals. His healing magic is very powerful, as he has the power to cure disease. Both his healing and elemental powers can be used by mortals, as he is one of the magic gods. Most of his magic is accessible without reagents.

Leviathan worked with Ceraph in the downfall of Jake the trickster god. He and Ceraph were directly affected by the trick Jake pulled that led to it, but he did not have the same heated history with Jake that his brother did.

As an elemental god, Leviathan has six immortal servants that help act as conduits of his power to LaRaGa. They are the Leviathan Clan, and are a pack of merfolk with his symbol on their neck. Mostly he does not give them direct instruction, and they interpret his will as they desire.

Miscellany:

Magic: As one of the magic gods, mortals can call on Leviathan's power for spells and enchantments. These include;
Water. Uses dirt or sand as reagents, but does not require them. As an elemental spell, takes many different forms and can easily be mixed into an enchantment with Jude, god of runes' magic.
Ice. Uses water as a reagents, but does not require them. As an elemental spell, takes many different forms and can easily be mixed into an enchantment with Jude, god of runes' magic.
(Disease) Healing. Uses water, cloth and feathers as regeants. Used to cure diseases, though the strength of the caster greatly influences the strength of the spell. Extremely difficult to use, but highly prized by mortals.

Curses: Leviathan is liable to sink ships who do not give their proper dues to him, and he sometimes curses individuals to be 'unlucky' to seafarers, causing storms and disasters around them when they are on the sea.
